I figured I should probably eat one green smoothie before I committed to a month. She agreed and took one last opportunity to tell me how good kale was for me.<\/p>\n<p>I read a quick guide on what I might put in my smoothie and got started.<br \/>\n<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.metzroth.com\/katie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0928-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Green Smoothie\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.metzroth.com\/katie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0928-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.metzroth.com\/katie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0928-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Take 1:<br \/>2 cups of kale<br \/>2 cups unsweetened coconut milk<br \/>1 cup blackberries <br \/>(smoothie is no longer green, I&#8217;ll add another half cup of kale just in case&#8230;in case of what? It doesn&#8217;t taste like anything I can identify.<\/p>\n<p>Take 2:<br \/>Add 150g Chobani vanilla nonfat yogurt (13 g of sugar can&#8217;t hurt.)<br \/>Nope. Something is bitter? or something. Can&#8217;t quite put my finger on it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.metzroth.com\/katie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0934-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"cups of smoothie\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7272\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.metzroth.com\/katie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0934-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.metzroth.com\/katie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0934-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><br \/>\n<br \/>Take 3: <br \/>Add a packet of stevia to each glass.<br \/>It&#8217;s getting there, but it&#8217;s too runny.<br \/>\n<br \/>Take 4:<br \/>Freeze it.<br \/>\n<br \/>The next day, I eat a smoothie with a spoon. <br \/>The day after that, I let it melt a little and drink the second smoothie. <\/p>\n<p>Later that day, I realize that kale has more fiber than expected.<\/p>\n<p>And so it was that I started the 6 week Crossfit at Home challenge (recommended by a friend) with a Kale Cleanse. <br \/>I think I need new friends.<br \/>\n<br \/>Ps. When I asked my friend how she LOVED green kale smoothies, she sweetly responded, &#8220;oh&#8230;&#8230;..I only use Spinach.&#8221;<br \/>\n<br \/>Pps. Here are the green socks I&#8217;m working on. Pattern to be re-released by Hunter Hammersen sometime in the future.
