I’ve been participating in the Iknitarod on Ravelry and was pretty happy with what I accomplished while the Iditarod racers were pushing towards Nome…more about that later. It was a lot of fun to “race” via knitting with the mushers!
Susan’s Spinning Bunny shop has a special March only colorway available that I wanted to call your attention to in case you’re in the market for something a little different but very cool. The colorway is Sled Dog! I ordered the Clackamas and can’t wait to see how it knits up!
Ps. This yarn kind of matches my blog…..not a big shock that I like it. :)
Pps. Congrats to Dallas Seavey(1) and Aliy Zirkle (2)! …Mush!
I like to think of myself as a storyteller. Mostly I tell stories about knitting.
I seem to have dropped one of the Joshaqan socks behind the dryer while it was hanging around waiting to be washed. Turns out I really need to dust behind my dryer. I fished it out.
ew.
How am I going to get the lint off this sock?
Hmmm. I guess I’ll try my 3M lint roller.
Hopefully that will get most of it off.
sigh.
It’s a Miracle! Good as new and it hasn’t even been washed yet! WINNING!
Since I finished the Mashad socks (pattern by Hunter Hammersen) last summer and wore them in August in Texas on my feet inside shoes during a record draught when it was a billion degrees outside, I know they are rather warm. So, when it was time to pack socks for Colorado, they were the first pair that came to mind.
This pair of socks had a little bit of a rough start, but once I found a yarn I was happy with (Barking Dogs Achilles in Teal Mist), they were completely charming. So, pick out some pretty semi-solid yarn and knit up a pair. I think you’ll be smitten!
Ps. Hunter’s latest book is coming out, so don’t forget to pre-order….otherwise, when I start knitting the socks from the new book, you’ll be pea green with envy!
