I took a Mobius class from Hill Country Weavers last month and in a couple of hours I had half a cowl done. The idea of knitting a Mobius strip was fascinating and crazy fun.
There was only one problem.
It looked like a hot mess.

The pattern was supposed to be diagonal ribbing, but um, if it was, I couldn’t spot it. So, a frogging we will go…a frogging we will go…hi ho the dairy-o a frogging we will go. The yarn will someday become something else. The mobius cast on is cool and I plan to use that skill in the near future to make a plain stockinette cowl.
ps. I rather liked the movies “Love and other Drugs” and Beyond a “Reasonable Doubt”.
What a difference a year makes. Last February, I made the Hermoine hat for myself on size 5 circs. This January, I used the same yarn and the same needles to make the same hat. Only, it turned out a little big, so it seems I’m a tad less uptight than I was last winter. At least this is what I’m telling myself.
The hat is a birthday gift for my SIL. I’m going to send it to her with a note that if it is too big, she should let me know and I’ll knit her another (on 4’s). Some kind of sisterhood of the traveling hat magic could happen and it could fit. At least this is what I’m telling myself.
I also noticed that I look like I’ve aged a lot in a year – my eyes have dark circles under them. The good news on this is the first hat was done in DC (no allergies) and the second hat was done in mid-January in what I’m sure must be the Live Cedar Capital of the World. I haven’t really aged all that much in a year. At least this is what I’m telling myself…

Happy Birthday, C!
