Katherine the Great
I like to think of myself as a storyteller. Mostly I tell stories about knitting.

I got the mail Friday morning, saw the State Fair of Texas envelope, ripped it open and did a little dance in my cul-de-sac. My two waiting friends were surprised by my glee until I explained the good news. Soon, I had calmed down enough to figure out which blanket had won. The orange and white baby blanket won honorable mention!

Here is my name in lights on page 4.

I’m hoping to make the trip to Dallas to see all of the displays sometime this fall.

a state fair blanket continued…

You’ve probably used an i-cord for a purse strap or cord, but I had never imagined making a celtic knot with one. This is a genius idea and turned out even better than I’d hoped.
Here is the pattern called Celtic Sun by Nicky Epstein.

Yesterday was our ten year anniv. My SIL sent us this clever/fun gift of aluminum, tin, and diamond.

I planted a few plants – hopefully at least one of them will survive the Texas heat.
