I like to think of myself as a storyteller. Mostly I tell stories about knitting.

I tested the pattern Snippet for Hunter Hammersen. These wrist-warmers are fun and pretty and quirky so they made me think of a friend/coworker and her possible Christmas gift. I used soft yellow baby yarn and was really pleased with how they turned out. This was a quick fun knit; I will be making more at some point. Thinking pink and purple for some special little girls in my circle.

So, after completing two soft fuzzy yellow wristlets, I decided to add a chicken charm buried in the ruffle to remind the friend of our inside joke (Tastes like Chicken!). Turns out either a. I’m really picky about what my chicken charms look like or b. the chicken charm selection in the world is not that great….and yes, I checked the Internet. So, at Lisa’s suggestion, I started the chicken button hunt. I was able to find ones I liked. So, I sewed this chicken right into the ruffle. Somehow, one chicken seemed more fun and quirky while a chicken on each hand seemed way too far. I cannot explain my logic, but there it is.

They were gifted Monday and she seemed to be a fan. She did not however burst into song:
On the second day of Christmas, my coworker gave to me. Two Ruffled Cuffs and a Chicken Buried Right in the Crease!

I was picking things up….you know, so it doesn’t look like Santa’s sleigh exploded in the house…and noticed Sydney’s reindeer antlers. Oh no! I hadn’t taken a picture of her wearing them in front of the tree! So, I called her over and she gave me her, “Seriously?” look but was patient and sat for a few pics knowing that duck jerky was coming. She’s such a good dog!

Although, if I’m telling the truth, when TH got home from his business trip yesterday, she did act like I’d been torturing her in his abscence. :)

It’s that time again. This might even be Sydney’s favorite holiday. The international day of I get treats for sitting and laying around for an hour. She’s terribly good at it. The only thing I’m having trouble with these days is making noises just weird enough to get her to flip her ears forward without making her run over to me to make sure her feeder is not going on the fritz.

I especially like this photo because it seems like she’s peering down into the gift bag.

Here’s a photo where I’m trying to be all creative and artistic.

And here’s me loving on Syd for her patience and forebearance.
And now, I think I’ll go reward her with 10 minutes of uninterrupted eye contact.
Ps. Happy Tuesday, world!
