Well, it looks like yesterday is the one year anniversary of my first blog. :) It is really funny to read where I was a year ago….My knitting has come a long way, baby!
As I read over old entries, a lot has happened in the last year…..I’m one lucky girl!
…point of fact, i’m blogging while snuggling a nephew (so I’ll keep this brief!). :)

Today is Valentine’s Day. It has been a lovely day.

  • We ordered to-go from a Mexican food restaurant and SIL & I picked up our food really fast while couples stood around for the 1.5 + hour wait! We felt like rock stars.
  • I have had the perfect opportunity to wear my other NYC purse. :)
  • The icicles are AMAZING :)
  • ice

  • Nephew is cute beyond words. He has the cutest little toes and fingers! :)
  • Ry

  • I’m working on my second hermoine hat. I hope to wear it Wednesday….we’ll see. :)
  • BIL, SIL, TH and I saw Valentine’s Day today at the theater. I thought it was pretty cute. I will be watching it at home in the future and knitting.

love to all!!

Well, a new month has begun. Today is Super Bowl Sunday – which I love because I get lots of knitting done during the game. :)
The Wow blanket is moving along. 35% done and the lion has officially been started. So, here goes about 300 rows of yarn twisting. :)
The baseball blanket is finished, washed and steamed and ready to go to a happy home.
Baseball blankie

The santa and neopolitan baby blanket are still in Q.
I didn’t get a lot of knitting done last week b/c I wasn’t feeling up to par, but I’m back on track now.
I cannot WAIT to finish the wow blanket and post pictures! !
I’ll be SO glad when it is finished…..broke the news to TH last night that I might want to hang it on a wall rather than use it. LOL! I’m only half kidding. :)
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

I like to write A LOT of New Year’s Resolutions.
I think statistically, this gives me a better shot at keeping them. I think I keep more resolutions than an average person; I really do stack the odds in my favor. :)

Be more healthy – cook and exercise and drink more water (Monday I went for a jog and made homemade tomato soup, so I’m on the right track. :) )

No desserts (or candy) til 3/1 – I’m giving myself a mulligan on this b/c I ate 2 handfulls of M&M’s without thinking at M&G’s wedding….but I had been up since 6am and wasn’t thinking straight. :) I have a stretch goal of 7/1.

No FRENCH FRIES (this does not include waffle fries and sweet potato fries) until 7/1…stretch goal of 2011.
I think the other reason I keep some resolutions is that I build in exceptions. :)

Learn to make crepes.

Learn tatting. (Tatt at least one Christmas ornament.)

No yarn purchasing until 7/1 with a stretch goal of 9/1 – I am not sure I can make it through the Christmas season without buying yarn.
This does not count the yarn I picked up for a friend the other day that she reimbursed me for. :)

A few of my favorite Things

Hockey
really enjoyed one of the fights at the hockey game Friday. Opposing team player interrupted a celebration after we scored and got socked. I like justice.
I combined two of my fav. things together. I wore my cream alpaca hat to the hockey game.
good news: TH thought I had purchased myself a cute new hat. :)
bad news: Alpaca itches me! I’m thinking of lining the inside headband part with cream ribbon since my hair protects most of my head from the crazy thing. TH’s suggestion was a blow torch to burn off the fuzzies. true story.
Thank goodness I didn’t make a blanket out of this really soft, surprisingly itchy yarn! – bullet dodged
