Katherine the Great
I like to think of myself as a storyteller. Mostly I tell stories about knitting.

It was pretty outside last weekend and The Husband and I were lazing about under a tree soaking it all in Saturday. I’d taken my knitting out but it was lounging forgotten on the pattern amidst the green grass while I reclined on a football blanket…and Sydney was milling around sniffing for truffles or some such thing when I hear, “your yarn!” from The Husband. It seems Sydney had been eating a bit of grass and had mistaken my yarn for yummy blades. Thankfully, the yarn was not broken and appeared none the worse for wear other than being slimed. She had quickly realized that it did not taste like the salad she was after. I laughed and took it in to the house to soak that section in some water and eucalan. I ended up having to manually wipe the dog slobber off the yarn, but it held up perfectly. Toe decreases done Sunday with dry yarn.
Leafy Sock

Second sock is in progress.
Stephanie Pearl-McPhee Casts Off
I’ve almost finished reading Stephanie Pearl-McPhee Casts Off (a Yarn Harlot book). This one is fine, but is not my favorite. I recommend Knitting Rules or All Wound Up.

Striped Sock
This pattern with the afterthought heel is just the thing for on the go knitting.

Leafy Sock
This pattern is a lot of fun to knit and since I’m using a DK weight by Hazel Knits, it is knitting up quickly. This is my first time to use Artisan Lively and I’m really enjoying the feel of it.

Lacy socks
good news: I’ve got the pattern for toe decreases memorized.
bad news: I’ve been ripping out a lot of toes lately. I ripped this one back and added four rows and now I’m considering ripping back again to add a few more. I think I’m paranoid about making toes too long after the Mermaid sock debacle and am overcompensating. The Mermaids turned up recently when I was organizing the stash – I don’t know what I’m going to do with them. I do not feel like redoing the toes again. I kind of hate them now. Have considered throwing them on stage at a rock concert….but I can’t do that when the toes do not match each other. I know. You know you have OCD when….

…and here are my WIP with the book I’m reading:
