I like to think of myself as a storyteller. Mostly I tell stories about knitting.

“Seaweed yarn” contains Sea Cell which is a cellulose based fiber made from seaweed according to Handmaiden’s web site. Their yarn is what I was drooling over at my LYS. It seems very shiney and soft and totally luxurious (Sea Cell seems most often paired with silk). What it is not is long-wearing (which is what I need for socks). On ravelry, I found some gorgeous Sea Silk / Sea Sock projects. Observe.

Oh look at all of that sea cell prettiness. Even if it isn’t long-wearing (I wonder how bad it is…) for that texture I would still love a skein of my very own!

I’m not sure how bad it is… might be ok for lounge socks? but for me, I think I’ll just plan to use it for something other than socks at some point (hopefully soonish)…is this going to be the story of how I became a shawl knitter???

    Oh, girl…that IS gorgeous.

Now I really feel lame asking the other day on here if it was “real” sea weed.

Yes. I can ask the doozies, I know.
