![Earlier this week, @marz1pan agreed to eat lunch at our local Irish pub to celebrate me finally finishing my draft of my Irish paranormal romance.
The proprietor, who sees me regularly, asked if I was knitting for a new addition. I said “No, these socks are for me!?!” and I held it up for him to see.
He smiled and walked away.
After he left, I asked Megan “Did he just ask if I was pregnant?”
She said “Yes. You didn’t misunderstand.”
And then I sat for a second. Someone asked if I was pregnant the week before Mother’s Day and I didn’t feel overrun by grief.
My gaping wound is healing and becoming a scar I can touch without it gutting me.
Two things have contributed to this:
- therapy
- doing the work of writing a heroine who finds joy after life lifes all over her.
While I hunt for and find joy on a regular basis, the act of working through this fictional plot has been healing. I’m so grateful for my writing journey.

So……I recently had the brilliant idea to knit a Dr. Who scarf for one of the gnomes (in a slightly BRIGHTER palette than the actual). But while I could (and did) knit the said scarf, no gnome will wear it anytime soon….cause ladies and gents, I’m not weaving in all these ends! This could very well be my worst idea….to date.
the rest of the story. I might have an option to braid the ends? hmm. I’ll see how that goes and report back.

Woah, that is a lot of ends for such a tiny little thing. Although I kind of like how it looks now, multicolored fringe!
I did too, but it isn’t really anything.
Oh. No. Yeah… I totally wouldn’t want to weave those in either. I have no offering of help. Rather, I am kind of smirking at the predicament you’re in. I hope you don’t mind my having a chuckle at you expense. :-D
