I like to think of myself as a storyteller. Mostly I tell stories about knitting.

First, if you are a fan of the blue/purple swoopy thing on the foot socks, the pattern is out sometime today on violentlydomestic.com
Handknit Blue Socks

Second, here are my green socks in progress with some bluebonnets because. well. because I LOVE bluebonnets, so I’m going to enjoy the hell out of them while I can!

And finally, because I was wearing them, here’s a glamour shot of my Linaria Bipartita Socks
Handknit Socks in Bluebonnets

This yarn (Plucky Knitter Primo Fingering) has pilled, but putting these on feels like snuggling happy baby bunnies against my toes, so I don’t care.

After the second sock gave me trouble, I did a bit of marathon knitting and was able to finish my gray socks for the Knit-A-Long after all. I got a kick out of the fact that I watched Mirror Mirror while knitting a mirrored sock; it was a better little Snow White flick than I was expecting.
I also watched Legend of the Guardians which was quite good. Finished grafting the toes during Leap Year (great romantic comedy if you’ve not seen it) and talked the husband into pausing while I ran outside to snap a couple of pics.

I like how these feel on my feet. (and no, my legs could not be any whiter. I think I could be a stunt double for Casper. Wait. Ghosts don’t need stunt doubles. I could be a body double for him. You know, in case he has really fat calves….and now I’m realizing, he doesn’t really have calves. nevermind.)

I generally knit brightly colored socks. Brightly colored yarn just calls my name. But, every once in a while, I’m wearing an outfit that calls for gray or black socks, so I needed to knit some. I mentioned this to Hunter Hammersen one day via her blog and she voted gray. I also mentioned my plan to Bonita (the soon to be owner of the Zombie socks) and she said, “I think I recall you knitting some black socks at some point and hating it enough that even I was scarred….don’t you think that means something?”
It does. If Bonita and Hunter both vote gray, then gray socks I shall have!
